Registration extended for the foreign participants* till 12th August and for Indian participants till 31st August

(* registration has closed for Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin and for Stateless persons due to regulations cited by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India)

For 10 participants from an organisation, the 11 th participant can participate for FREE!

For 5 participants from an organisation, the 6 th will get a 50% discount on the fees!

Note: only one discount scheme can be availed of at a time

The amount mentioned above includes food and lodging, field travel and accommodation, sightseeing, workshop kits and training materials. Accommodation at the workshop venue is on a twin-sharing basis. During fieldwork for two days, dormitories are provided. Participants arriving before 11th September and staying beyond the afternoon of 22 nd September will have to pay for their food and lodging.

Please note that since TheWorkshop is a non-sponsored event that needs to pay for itself, scholarships are offered very selectively. We however do have two schemes designed to give our participants more value for their money:

  1. For 10 participants from an organisation; the 11th participant can participate for free.
  2. For 5 participants from an organisation; the 6th will get a 50% discount on the fees.

Scholarships

1. The Madhura Pandit Scholarship is offered in memory of the young, committed and diligent Praxian, Madhura. This scholarship will cover the workshop fee for one participant.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Indian national
  • Belonging to Dalit/Muslim/Tribal community
  • Working at the grass-roots level in rural/urban areas in a social development related sector

2. Scholarship available for Indian (North East state) participants.

To apply for the scholarship, please email the following documents to info@theworkshop.in by 1st August 2011:

  1. A copy of your updated CV with references
  2. A reference letter from your organisation
  3. A brief write-up (maximum 2 pages) on how this workshop would concretely benefit your work and a corresponding work plan.

All applications will be reviewed based upon the information submitted and the decision of the review committee will be final.

  • Applicants of general scholarship will be informed of the results by  31st August 2011.
  • Applicants of Madura Pandit scholarship will be informed of the results by 16th August 2011.
The selected candidate will be required to submit a report on the impact that the workshop has had on her/his work 6 months after the workshop.

Fee Payment

The payment options available are:

Indian participants: Cash or DD/cheques (in favour of Praxis Institute for Participatory Practices) sent to Praxis Institute for Participatory Practices, C-75 South Extension Part 2, New Delhi 110049.

International participants: Through bank transfers. For details, write to info@theworkshop.in

All registrations will be confirmed on the receipt of fees. In case of cancellations prior to the start of the workshop, Praxis reserves the right to withhold part of the fee for administrative and opportunity costs (see application form for details). Replacement of participants with similar profile is also possible.
